The Yadkin Gray Eagles were chartered on January the 29th, 1997, with 20 members present. Their goal was to create awareness and educate the people of Yadkin County, North Carolina in their proud Confederate heritage. Since their inception, the Yadkin Gray Eagles have cleaned many cemeteries, repaired and straightened many headstones, placed several grave markers, and held several memorial services for Yadkin County's Confederate veterans. The Yadkin Gray Eagles are proud to have financially supported the placement of several Civil War Trail Markers in Yadkin County.

Many of the members of the Yadkin Gray Eagles SCV Camp are active War Between the States reenactors. At their monthly meetings, the Yadkin Gray Eagles share a meal, listen and participate in an educational and entertaining program, and share a camaraderie that harkens back to that shared by their ancestors during the war to win independence for the Confederacy and maintain the republic that their fathers and grandfathers fought and died to establish.
